"God saw all that he had made and it was very good."1 In the beginning God made a perfect world free of sickness, poverty, broken relationships, drug abuse, war, and death. It was the way life was designed to be!
FLAWED WORLD:
Something went horribly wrong! Trouble has infiltrated all our lives. You've seen it, heard it, felt it. Perhaps your neighbor is cheating on his wife, your cousin is in jail, your boss has asked you to lie, your best friend has betrayed you, or your children are at one another's throats. The sad reality is that the world in which we live is horribly flawed!
FLAWED LIVES:
"We are far more flawed and far more sinful than we can dare imagine."2 This means any thought we have, any word we speak, or anything we do that does not please a perfect God is sin. If we are honest, we know that we "all have sinned" in ways that we never expected.3 Our sins may be hidden, but we know them well. Guilt, shame, tears, regret, emptiness, pain, and even death are the eventual consequences. The truth is "the entire world is guilty before God."4
Guilty and unsatisfied, we are often left feeling "blue" and sad. This sadness is shown by the color blue.
